The Story of Punch Studio

Meet Aimee Cox and Maiko (aka: Mo), the fearless founders of Punch Studio. The two women met by chance through the world of beauty and hair, and the connection was instant—it was as if they had known each other their entire lives. They both have a superhuman work ethic, genuine energy, and can 100% make you laugh as you walk through the studio doors (with a coffee in hand, of course).

In 2019, Aimee and Mo decided to venture into business together and Punch Studio was born. They are both dreamers and creators with a deep love for family, friendship, and aesthetics. Their studio is an extension of their values and who they are.

Aimee Cox

Aimee Cox is a master stylist, colourist, and certified extensions expert.

Since 2003, Aimee has worked alongside top international stylists from Joico and Redken, and won Salon Magazine’s Canadian Hairstylist of the Year award. After 15 years as a stylist, Aimee decided to add business owner to her resumé and pursue her utmost dream: Punch Studio. When Aimee isn’t at the studio, you can find her with her friends sipping a glass of wine and wearing an incredibly stylish pair of glasses.

Maiko (“Mo”)

Maiko is an industry-acclaimed makeup artist and cosmetician.

For over 17 years, Mo specialized in hyper-realism and prosthetic makeup for film and television, working with actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Radcliffe, Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, and more. Now, Mo focuses on enhancing her client’s natural beauty through microblading, cosmetic tattoos, and lashes. When Mo isn’t at Punch Studio, you can find her dreaming about motorcycles, laughing with her husband, and spending quality time with her two adorable daughters, Emika and Mihana.
